A 16-year-old teen has been charged over a vicious coward punch outside a Northbridge nightclub.

Victim Mohamed, who did not want his surname published, sustained bleeding on the brain in the attack before he was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital.

He also suffered a deep wound to his forehead when he smashed into the pavement face-first.

“It’s actually to the bone,” he said.

“It’s pretty deep. You can actually see the skull.”

Doctors told Mohamed that his injuries could have been fatal.

“I could have been dead, yeah that’s what doctors told me,” he said.

“They said I was lucky.

“Not many people that get hit once and fall on the concrete, they don’t actually make it alive.

“They are either paralysed or they’re dead.”

Mohamed, who is an apprentice bricklayer, said he suffers regular migraines as a result of the attack.

Police say the assault happened outside the Library nightclub in Northbridge last month.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old a short time after the assault, and he remains behind bars charged with grievous bodily harm.
