Pilbara mum Felicity Shadbolt ‘died doing what she loved’ according to an emotional statement released by her family today.

The 36-year-old mother of two’s body was found in the bush near Mt Nameless on Thursday after going missing while running four days earlier.

Police hope an autopsy will help determine the cause of death.

Tom Price locals have created a Gofundme page to raise money for Mrs Shadbolt’s twin daughters, Macie and Harper.

As of Friday afternoon, the page had raised more than $3500 towards its $5000 goal.

Her family released a statement on Friday with a series of photographs of Flik, as she was known to them, surrounded by family and friends.

Here is the full statement:

“Felicity was known to them as Flik.

She lived her life for her girls (seven-year-old old twins Macie and Harper).

She fought a difficult pregnancy and the twins were born premature.

She was advised to abort one twin to save the other but that was not an option for Flik.

She was determined she would walk out of hospital with two babies, not one. And her fight paid off.

She talked of living in a big house so her girls could stay with her forever so they could always be together.

Macie and Harper would describe their mum as their best friend, their rock.

Flik was tenacious, stubborn and focused with a real sense of drive. She went after what she wanted and no one could get in her way.

She has a strong work ethic and had recently been promoted at work. She worked to provide for her family, she wanted to give the best to her girls.

She has been fit and active since she was a teenager. She has competed in Spartan events, and exercise is a way of life for her. When her girls were born she would put them in their pram and run with them.

She has a love for life, love for the outdoors and she died doing something she loved. She ran until the very end.

The family would like to thank Tom Price community for their support, they have found the help overwhelming and couldn’t have asked for any more.

They want to thank the SES volunteers, WorkPac (Flik’s employer), Rio Tinto (Drew’s employer), WA Police, Shire of Ashburton, DFES, local paramedics and everyone else who assisted in the search for Flik — and to the community for rallying around to support in every way they could.

The generosity, the volunteers, they (the family) are blown away. No one gave up searching for Flik, the searchers remained positive every day in their hope for finding Flik.

Family have travelled to Tom Price from Shepparton and Numurkah, Victoria, North Queensland and Tasmania. They have received overwhelming messages of support.

Flik will be remembered to them for her beautiful smile. Her immaculate appearance, her love of make-up, her desire to stay young and never grow old, and the smell of her favourite perfume.”
